Many people are familiar with the phrase “mind over matter.” Its implied meaning is that one can (and should) use his or her willpower to overcome physical problems. While it must be noted that in many, many instances this phrase is inappropriate and inapplicable, there is a bit of science behind it.

Now, scientists from Canada assert they have found the first evidence that indicates support groups that encourage meditation and yoga can actually alter the cellular activity of cancer survivors and, perhaps, assist in recovery.
